Horses under threat from slaughter

The culling of wild horses does not just exist in Australia. All over the world governments pursue the slaughter of their native animals in the pursuit of protecting insignificant facets of the environment.

In the USA the wild mustang is also under threat, however they are not moving away from aerial culling as is slowly happening in Australia.

The wild mustang, much like the wild brumby, is an American symbol.

From the mustang car, to songs and tales about the wild horse; it is imbedded in their culture as much as the brumbies are in Australia.

Around the world animal rights activists are outraged at the use of lethal culling methods. They are used against other animals as well, but most commonly against wild horses due to the size of the animal and the groupings of their mobs.

Luckily, the PZP vaccination process has been developed and tested on mustangs and is being rolled out in certain areas. Yet in some areas, culling from the air is still taking place.

We must join with the wild horse activists around the world and protest against culling in every form.
